Birth Doulas are individuals that are professionally trained in the birthing process. They are well practiced in comfort measures and relaxation techniques to assist the mother through the stages of labor so that she can deliver her baby naturally and with less need of medical interventions. I am a certified Birth Doula supporting mothers in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area.
I also offer Postpartum Doula Services, which includes supporting the new mother during those early weeks following delivery. I am certified in Postpartum care.
I am also a certified birth educator and breastfeeding counselor.
I have a sliding scale option for those paying out of pocket. I also accept Medicaid through Healthy Blue, United Healthcare and soon
I started Origins Doula because my personal belief is that having a baby is a sacred time in a woman’s life and that giving birth is natural unless medical risks have been identified. I am a certified, birth professional trained by the International Doula Institute and a member of DONA. My service area includes the Metro Charlotte , North Carolina area, but I can travel with planning. I also speak Spanish. I have been credentialed and verified with Novant Health.
